Manatee Mother and Calf
Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture of a manatee mother and calf by Geoffrey Smith
6"L x 6"W x 21"H
A gentle arc of bronze captures a serene underwater moment between a mother manatee and her calf. With simplified forms and upward motion, this sculpture emphasizes the quiet grace of these beloved aquatic mammals. The composition draws the eye along the curve of the mother's body as the calf glides closely below, their bond evident in every contour. Mounted on a round wooden base, the sculpture evokes the flow of Florida's warm spring waters, where manatees drift, pay, and nurture their young.
