Mangrove Solitude
Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture of a White Ibis by Geoffrey C. Smith, 1997
8"L x 9"W x 23"H
Perched high among branches, Mangrove Solitude captures the quiet elegance and alertness of a wading bird in its natural environment. Balanced naturally on a branch, its curved bill, slender legs, and lifted stance convey grace and poise. Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, Smith hand-sculpts every detail, from the soft feathering on the bird to the intertwined roots and branches of the tree.
The distinctive patina features a bright white body contrasted by rich, darker tones along the branchwork. Standing at 23 inches tall on a wooden base, this small-scale sculpture serves as a refined tabletop accent piece, honoring one of Florida's iconic wetland birds.
