The Silver Banks is an underwater area of wonder where over 5000 humpback whales congregate every winter through spring to give birth and nurture their young. Last year I was fortunate enough to be on the season's first trip with Gene Flipse, and Conscious Breath Adventures.

When you are face to face in their element, looking into that beautiful, dark eye of a mother whale as she comes swimming to you at close range, you can almost reach out and touch her! It is an indescribable experience. The sculptures are a reminder of that experience.
