Treasure of the Silver Bank - Bronze Humpback Whale Sculpture by Geoffrey Smith
Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture of a Mother and Calf Humpback Whale by Geoffrey C. Smith, 2024
14"l x 13"w x 19.5"h including the base.
The breathtaking majesty of the deep ocean takes form in Treasure of the Silver Bank. This bronze sculpture depicts a mother humpback whale and her young calf gliding gracefully together through the ocean currents. Utilizing the traditional lost-wax method, this detailed process brings out the rugged, grooved textures of the whales' underbellies alongside the sleek, powerful curves of their bodies.
The composition rises from a fluid, wave-like base that mimics the natural movement of the sea. Hand-applied finishes create a striking combination of rich marine tones and deep patinas that actively interact with room lighting to add great visual depth. Bringing a powerful yet serene presence to a room, the sculpture beautifully captures an intimate bond within the marine world.
