An ocean environment comes alive in Turtles in Spades. This commanding fine art bronze sculpture depicts two loggerhead sea turtles gliding through deep currents alongside a swirling school of spadefish. The entire piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method. This detailed process brings out the rugged surfaces of the turtle shells alongside the sleek forms of the surrounding fish.
The composition rises from a twisting, wave-like base that mimics natural ocean currents. A striking combination of warm bronze tones and cool silver patinas is applied by hand at the foundry. These distinct finishes actively interact with room lighting to add great visual depth. Bringing a balanced presence to a room, the sculpture beautifully captures the power and grace of marine life.
