A Fluke - Humpback Whale's Tail
Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture by Geoffrey C. Smith
7"L x 5"W x 6.75"H
Sleek and fluid, this bronze sculpture captures the essence of a whale's tail as it rises elegantly from the sea. Smooth curves and flowing lines evoke a powerful sense of movement, reflecting the quiet strength and majesty of the ocean. A rich blue patina enhances the surface, echoing the shifting tones of open water and the natural beauty of marine life. Minimalist yet expressive, the sculpture distills the grandeur of the sea into a single, graceful form - serving as both a tribute to whales and a meditation on the mystery of the deep.
This piece was inspired by the artist's time in the Silver Bank, an extraordinary underwater sanctuary where more than 5,000 humpback whales gather each winter to give birth and raise their young. Traveling with Gene Flipse and Conscious Breath Adventures, Geoffrey C. Smith had the rare opportunity to be face-to-face with a mother whale in her element - close enough to see the expression in her eye as she swam by. This sculpture serves as a lasting reminder of that powerful encounter and the fragile beauty of life beneath the waves.
