Mourning Doves

Mourning Dove (Zenaida Macroura)    A graceful, slender-tailed, small-headed dove that is common across North America. When taking off, their wings make a sharp whistling sound. You can scatter seeds, particularly millet, on the ground to attract the birds to your yard and plant dense shrubs or evergreen trees to provide nesting sites. They are capable of drinking brackish water and can live for over 30 years in the wild.
