On May 8, the Sansone Group, alongside city officials and community leaders, gathered at Legacy Park at Tradition for the dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony of The Tree of American Dreams, Geoffrey C. Smith’s newest public art commission.

Created in honor of the late Anthony F. Sansone, Sr., the monumental bronze sculpture stands as a tribute to family, faith, community, country, and the enduring pursuit of the American Dream:

  • The Roots: Represent the core values closest to Mr. Sansone's heart.

  • The Trunk: Honors his beloved wife, Mary Anne Michaels Sansone, as the anchor of the family.

  • The Eight Branches: Represent his eight children and the legacy carried forward through generations.

  • The Eagle: Spreads its wings at the peak, representing freedom, strength, vision, and resilience.

For Geoffrey C. Smith, the eagle has long been one of the most powerful subjects in his studio. It represents freedom, strength, vision, and resilience. In The Tree of American Dreams, the eagle becomes the spirit of the piece, rising above the story of one family and speaking to something larger: the hard work, faith, and determination behind the American Dream.

The dedication ceremony marked more than the completion of a public art commission. It marked the beginning of the sculpture’s life within the community, where it will stand permanently as a place for reflection, remembrance, and pride.

For collectors drawn to the commanding presence of the eagle, Geoffrey C. Smith Galleries is featuring Geoffrey’s signature bronze eagle sculpture collection. These pieces carry the same symbolism of strength, freedom, and legacy into private homes, offices, and fine art collections.
